We have applied for planning permission to build a 15 pen cattery block at Barcaldine, Argyll.
Each pen will be capable of housing two cats.
At the moment only our dogs are kept at the kennels but as Pat has decided to resign from the charity we need to house the cats, currently at Seil elsewhere.
This will be an expensive undertaking and we hope to fundraise very hard this year to achieve all that we need to keep the cats in decent accommodation until they are rehomed.
It would be a great help if we could rehome as many as possible at the moment since we have 60 cats needing to find homes NOW.
Here is a photo of the kennels/cattery grounds where the new pen will go – minus swing!!
This new venture it means that we will have a facility at Barcaldine for cats and dogs that will ensure that our area of Argyll and the Isles has a viable rescue and rehoming centre for the next 20 plus years at least.
We have had tremendous support over the years and hopefully that will continue as this will be a costly exercise but one worth having and any fundraising efforts people can donate towards it will be greatly appreciated by all the animals it will ultimately help in the years to come. will ultimately help in the years to come.
